Personal Space

I recently moved from the midwest to the east coast... what is wrong with people here? Noone respects anyone's personal space, it got so bad the other day waiting in line to pay for coffee, I could actually tell what type of underwear the man behind me was wearing. Definitely a briefs guy. C'mon!! Just back up 10 inches. That is all I am asking.
