Orthotics done bad

I was prescribed an orthotic to get rid of corns on my baby toes. I was told that an orthotic would hit me in the right place and make my toes go straight, therefore releiving the pressure on my fifth digit. The problem is after 9 months, 3 orthotics, and irreversible damage to my feet, I was finally told sorry, I cannot help you. Go away! Now I am left with painful feet. Has anyone else had this problem?
