Newport Pleasure Goods Program

What's with the Newport Pleasure Goods Program? I missed the 2004 & 2005 programs due to relocating, so I've waited for the 2006 catalog. It appears that instead of offering goods/gear they are offering a 'gift card' in $25 and $50 increments to be used wherever...etc. etc. Plus! The amount of UPC's needed is outrageous! 500 upc's = $25. Let's do the math - 500 x 4.00 per pack (I'm being kind) equals $2000.00 paid to get a $25 gift card reward!! Comments?
