My solicitor has badly let me down concerning property purchase. He failed to act on my specific instructions that I did not want to proceed with the purchase until the promised legal letter was received by him confirming I owned four feet the other side of existing fence. He accepted a letter stating 4' and his defence is that he didn't know what ' meant. Face to face he promises to do his best to sort it out at his expense but does nothing and will not repond to letters or telephone calls. Also Solicitor did not check plans which showed the road in front of the property is privately owned. The Law Society says they cannot support a negligence claim as they are unable to give legal advice? What is the point of paying hundreds of pounds to do things properly only to be left floundering when the mistakes are legal ones?
