NATIONWIDE IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE.......We had a storm which damaged our property. Nationwide paid $1800 for $10,000 in damages. I sent it back. Then they threatened me. Said if I try to collect as the contractors estimates indicated they would take action against me. Then they had an investigation and said the window was wood as a means to start an investigation. The window is is not and I sent the pics. to them. They do not answer any questions and refuse to communicate. I have sent them all the information as requested. Now they say The home was vacant. Nationwide investigator broke into my house when I was not home and went through my things. I cought this person leaving the home through the front door.. They questioned my chrildren when I was not home. Then they said if I do not make all the repairs they will not renew our contract. I have been with Nationwide for 20 years and never filed a claim. I complained to the state. They said get an attorney. Why should I have to pay thousands of dollars to an attorney to force Nationwide to act in good faith and honor our contract. My agent is honest. He tells me I am not the only one they are doing this to. I contacted the bank to change insurance. He said the bank has had a large amount of people inquiring about homeowners insurance and they are all switching from Nationwide. Complaints like mine. Apparently Nationwide believes they are above the law and can do what ever they want to whome ever they want when ever they want. This company sucks. They are frauding the homeowners and then creating a situation and out right accusing the homeowner of fraud in order to stall and get out of paying the claims. I pay $1400 a year for two homes for 20 years and this is what we get. Nationwide is not on your side. Stay clear of these people. Bad bad news. I should have that investigator arrested for breaking and entering. Bastards.
