Word to the wise. DON'T DO YOUR BANKING THROUGH NATIONAL CITY BANK. They will rip you off every chance they get. They charged me an 'excessive usage fee' on my savings account. Can you believe this? Charging me to use my OWN money. Then last month these bloodsuckers charged me four overdraft fees at $34 a pop. This is what happened. I had $800 in my checking account. I made three small debit purchases (a $2.68,$1.56, and a $5.68) a week later I sent out my check for the mortagage ($1,063.00) my paycheck went in that Friday so there would be plenty of money to cover all charges plus the mortage. They deposited my paycheck on the same day the mortage check went through. Instead of putting the three smaller charges through first they put the mortagage through first. The three smaller charges should have been put through first as they were made before I mailed the check for the house. So they put in the mortage check first which made the account bounce once and THEN they put the three small charges through second which made it bounce three more times and THAN they credited my paycheck. All of these transactions happened on the same day. This is so shady and underhanded. They know exactly what they're doing. The sad thing is, there isn't a damn thing we can do about it. I tried resolving this by talking to a manager but she wouldn't help me. She said 'it wasn't the banks fault'. I have to disagree. What they did is wrong in so many ways.
