I became an instant father when my cousin died and I found that their last wish was for their daughter to be raised by me. I didn't find this odd because we are a close family and we do everything together. They were a very liberal family living practically like hippies. We became more than just family and were best friends. My Aunt and Uncle hates their kids so my cousins treated me like a father figure. About their daughter, the weird thing is that she crawls in bed with me every morning. She's done this since she moved in. I let her at first because she just lost her two parents and she seemed to find it comforting. As time passed I tried to get her to sleep in her own bed which she does at night, but I wake up with her in bed with me every morning. It's been rather embarrassing if I have had a date over because my new daughter isn't a little kid, she's 13 years old. She told me her family almost always slept in the same bed unless her mom and dad needed some alone time. Short of putting a lock on my bedroom door I don't know what I can do to get her to stay in her bed.
