My gay boyfriend is genuinely racist and genuinely homophobic. He looks like an All-American Athlete (he isn't he's Welsh), and he wears Abercrombie and Fitch and has facial hair. He doesn't like it when I act camp in public and he doesn't like sitting near, eating near or being around anyone who isn't white. We're in a university town so this can be a bit awkward. He also supports UKIP which is a nationalist (and a little bit racist) political party. I feel like I'm being a bad gay by dating him. Also he likes everyone to know how he's a total top when, actually, in the bedroom he's a total cumslut. I'm not even sure I like him as a person but the sex is great. He goes on and on about all his big uninformed opinions when we're out but when we're in I can just make him wear a muzzle and if he pisses me off I can beat him with a stick and he actually enjoys it. The strange thing is that I feel ten times dirtier being with him in public than I do when I've got my fist shoved up his anus. Part of me wants to video him when he's bound and gagged and send it to his rugby mates, but I'm not sure he'd enjoy that. So I guess my confession is dating a guy who would gladly beat me up on a night out in front of his mates, but who secretly likes me to beat him up when we're alone. And as sexy as his biceps are and his perfect peachy bottom, I'm worried I'm gonna take this shit too far. The weird thing is, if I was in a sports society myself, I'm pretty sure we could pass off this entire relationship as "banter".

It makes sense that he acts like this. He seems perfectly comfortable being with you in private but he is insecure about his sexuality in public. this could be from the same branch that is the cause of his racism. It's probably upbringing that has caused it. It's down to you to decide whether you can be in a relationship that is only behind closed doors.
