June 29, 2006 Nathaniel Ellison 510 Bellport Avenue Bellport, NY 11713 Your Honorable Personage: This letter is to inform you that I am a victim of a crime perpetrated against me and scores of others before me in this wise. My dream was always to become a TRUCK DRIVER. I finally built up enough nerve to pursue this dream. Subsequently, I contacted MTC Truck Driver Training at 1-800-455-4682 ext. 6533 and spoke to a recruiter by the name of 'Corey' on June 19, 2006. On June 20, 2006, at 6:56 PM, Corey left me a message on my answering machine stated “You have a job and you have been approved, everything is worked out and congratulated me to call him.” On June 21, 2006, I contacted Corey and he requested that I fax him my MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) and six references. I faxed them to him on June 22, 2006 at 14:11 and telephoned him to inform him that the information was faxed. He called me back and said, “Everything looks fine and he will start working on the ticket to come to Missouri He told me due to his investigation I was approved from his SUPERIORS on down to attend MTC Truck Driver Training. (I have this message on my answer machine). We went through an arduous three days telephone interview in which I had to fax him several items including my I was told by this recruiter that I was HIRED that all I needed to bring was $150.00 for entry fee, that housing was free as well as LUNCH & DINNER, and he would send me a Bus ticket to get to St. Louis Missouri from New York and give me a Bus ticket to return home upon completion of my training. On Sunday, June 25, 2006 I left NY at 3:30 pm only after being sent to the wrong location to catch the bus at Massapequa, NY. To my surprise this bus terminal long closed, so I called the Greyhound 1800# and they informed me that my ticket was in Hempstead NY. Then, I had to deduct $20.00 from my $150.00 entry fee to pay a GOOD SAMARITAN to drive me to the Hempstead bus terminal so I would not miss my bus arriving in St. Louis at 7:15 pm on Monday June 26, 2006. I was then shuttled to the 'Econo Lodge Inn Suites in Bridgeton at 3551 Pennridge Drive MO 63044', by one of MTC's drivers. I was then given Room 418 to lodge in with a roommate. On June 27, 2006, I signed scores of documents insuring my employment with one of their business partners “CR England”. I was later told by a “Sandra Haney in Placement that CR. England turned my application down because I did not have my driver license for more than a year and that no other carrier would hire me, and that there is really nothing more I can do to assist you.” Her number is 1-800-455-4682 X 6517. On 6/28/06 the following occurred. I then was escorted to MR. Jeff Fischer Vice-President of MTC office by a Ms. Haney. I explained to him that it was not my fault that my license information was overlooked by your staff but the truth of the matter was I sent my MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) via fax on 6/22/06 at 14:11, and such a document provides all the information of my driver history. Mr. Fischer became belligerent and stated “Well Nathaniel I can do nothing for you, you'll need to go back to the hotel and pack your stuff and further more you are on your own in regards to getting home and as far as the $130.00 you gave us it is not refundable.” Then, I requested his business card, that's when he became extremely irate and stated “Give you my card for what, so you can do something negative with it, further more just get out of my office and property or I will call the police.” I then stated, “How I will get my belongings that's at the Hotel in Bridgeton,” he said “WALK!” In addition to the latter , I found myself STRANDED 1,500 miles away from home with no money , no transportation, no food, and no way to get to the airport , I had to hitch hike with 100 lbs of luggage .Once at the airport I called my fiancée to purchase me a ticket at Southwest airlines to come home. Thank God I arrived in time for the last flight that was leaving St. Louis MO. I suffered in all areas of my being (mentally, spiritually, & physically) after I was promised a Bus ticket to return home upon completion of my training. Sincerely, Nathaniel Ellison 3rd Nathaniel Ellison 3rd
