Mortgage ripoff

We were trying to get a new mortage for our house. Through Lending tree we got Castle Point Mortgage. They insisted that we needed a house apraisal dispite the fact that our home has no first mortgage. I should have suspected when the agent insisted that he needed my bank account number so that the apraisal company could get their money right away. To make a long story short; we canceled the scheduled apraisal twice both Sat and Sunday. I also stated (to a machine there was nobody in the office) that since there was no apraisal there would be no need to take the 350. out of my checking. Monday a call from the agent How come we were't there for the apraisal? I stated that we had cancelled. He said we would be charged a fee for them to come to our house. With much effort we got 275 back but they still insist that the 75 dollars is for their trip. Castle Point is not a company you want to get involved with, They are in a big hurry to get their money and run.
