we signed papers, notorized, etc, to buy a house with the owners wife, the owner being in a nursing home. The owners sister and her best friend, a real estate agent, talked the husband into signing away the wife's poa rights AFTER the contract was signed/notorized. The real estate agent came to us and said, this house isn't getting sold without going through me so I can get my 7 percent, so if you want to buy it, you have to go through me..we had already given a down payment, and over 5,000 dollars worth of improvements and labor on this house. We'd moved in and lived there for several months. So, now the owner is filing bankruptcy and the only person who will get any money when this house sells, is the real estate agent, besides the bankruptcy court. We had our lawyer look into it.
