misleading ins agent

Insurance agengy rep says to give an approx date business will close (not set in stone). Stated not sure but says that is no problem. Give a date and business is burglarized after said date and informed that there is no insurance because beyond date that was supposedly 'not set in stone'. Total loss more than $6,000.
