Not having receive a recall letter from Ford Motors in regards to the danger of my 1997 Mercury Manifold being defective, I expierence an explosions on my Mercury which had 68,000 miles. Contacting the Maroone Distributership I was refered to their snotty service manager. On my asking him if there was a recall on these plastic manifold which exploded with high radiator pressure. He said that there were recalls but they have now expired telling me that it was now my problem. I informed him that I had received a recall letter in regards to the brake system but not receiving a recall letter as to the manifold exploding under pressure as they were made of plastic enjection molding and had been breaking at their seams. As I did take it in and as there also was a recall on the manifolds their service depatment knowing of such a letter should have been taken care of that probelm at the same time. The service manager stating it's your problem and I don't care who you intend to file your complaint with. He slamming the phone. He quoting me $1300.00 for repairs. I contacted an Independent owned auto service shop they informing me that they recalled the Mercury Manifold Recall. They were charging $840.00 for replacement of the manifold. As I am persistant 87 year old indiviule It is my intention to Slam Bang The Maroone Mercury Sale and Service Company along with that service manager at every chance I get. They don't realize that My Slam Bang will have the same effect as when one throws a stone into the pond and a ripple goes on for miles in the water.I can gaurntee that it will be my topic of conversation when it comes to automobile agencies services.
