I made an appointment with an OB/GYN in Spring Hill, Florida because I was having a problem and my PCP referred me to this OB/GYN. The only response I recieved from a very monotone voice and crude front desk person was that the MD could not see me for one month regardless of my problem and I had to go into their website and fill out paper work before the appointment, this was back in August. This coming from an office that advertises friendliness and warmth of patients on their website. I left the appt as is and I recieved a confirmation call on 09/27/06 to state that they have not rec'd my paperwork and my appt would be cancelled because the paperwork was very important. I called back and left a message to say that since day one I felt that the only interest of the office was the paperwork and I wanted to cancel my appt and found another MD that is more concerned with my particular problem and not the paperwork. Today in the morning I get a phone call from 'Office Manager' of the doctor (which later I found out that this office manager is a doctor but I guess not a very good one when he is working as his wife's office mgr). This man was the most condescending, abnoxious person, I do not understand why he called me if he ridiculed me through out the whole conversation. How can an office have 'man' with this type of demeanor in a specialty like OB/GYN. He stated that the reason their office was the best was because they focused on the paperwork not like other OB/GYN around the area, and maybe I would be better suited somewhere else. Instead of him calling to find out why I was not keeping my appointment he called me to literally harass me and a couple of times laughed at what I was saying. When I told him my PCP referred me he said, I don't care who referred you we have a very busy office and laughed. I told him that I was a nurse in the community and very well known by surgeons and I would make it a point of discussing with them my experience so that no other woman has to deal with this, he laughed and said 'that's funny I have never heard of you' this coming from a 'DOCTOR' who works for his wife as an 'office manger' and is not even known in the community as an MD. Lastly, he told me no one would believe me in this community because they are MD's and all MD's respect each other and again laughed. This should not have to happen to anyone, I can only imagine how the elderly or uneducated patients are treated.
