Maytag washer/dryer

Bought a Maytag washer and dryer over one year ago. Washer gets unbalaned with each load no matter how small, and you cannot run it on heavy cycle because it sloshes the water out onto the floor. Yes the washer is level. Maytag dryer takes longer and longer to dry. Maytag company said I should call a repair man. Since when does a company not stand behind the product, and since when are complaints winked at if you did not purchase an extended warranty!!!!!!! Guess it is just fine to turn out substandard products, sold for overpriced amounts and just walk away from responsibility.
