Lift Breakdown

I bought a 5th floor flat 12 months ago and was not made aware that there was a problem with the lift. Now 12 months on the lift regulary breaks down but no one seems interested in trying to find out why, this includes the management company and or lift company. The excuses made are somtimes hilarious!!!!
