Lied Against The Deaf

When I was 12 I nearly burnt down the house. I was young then and still into science and all. In fact, I was a teen geek. The day it nearly happened, all the adults were out of the house and I was left with my baby brother and my deaf cousin. I was using the gas stove to heat a foul-smelling mixture when my cousin walked in beckoning me. I followed him but when I came back the kitchen was on fire. It was a terrible as my mum lost all her rare china. Quickly, I lied that it was my cousin’s doing. My furious mother stopped short of beating him but he was never allowed to come visit again.

You were a little kid and panicked. Most kids would have lied about it. But now that you're an adult, at the very least, apologize to your cousin and you should tell your mom the truth.
