I don't know what to say. who can help me with this? I met a pen-pal online 2 month ago, he is my language partner. and later on we found we had a lot in common and we actually like each other in some way. Then I made a decision, to go to his country and meet him. Sounds a little bit crazy. I have already got the visa and booked ticket. I lie to my parents that I'm going to california with my friends during thanksgiving break. now I feel depress about this because I'm not sure I like him, and I'm not sure if he likes me either.

take more time before you go there. get to know him a lot more. you have time. and meanwhile you can give back the money and mend fences with your parents.

i think it's a bad idea. You could potentially be putting yourself in a life or death situation. The fact that you're having doubts really tells the answer. Always follow your gut feeling and if something seems risky I would say really think about what you could be getting yourself into. Have you Skyped this guy? Do you know he's not a threat? Do you know his friends? Are they going to take advantage of you when you get there? If something were to happen, who would save you? Remember, you don't have rights in another country like you do in America. For example, Amanda Knox. Look what happened to her. They didn't ask questions, they just put her in prison. She could have been there for life. And who knows what they did to her while she was in there. The fact that she got out was pure luck. They kept her in there for months. Being an American means nothing in another country. They don't care. They hate American's and those are the cold hard facts of life. Think about that.

what should I do? he's country is sort of dangerous, and I don't speak their language. It means I have to trust him with my life and everything. I'm scared and confused.
