Kitchen Aid blender

I received a Kitchen Aid Blender appx 2 1/2 years ago as a gift, of which the blender was in storage for 1 1/2 years of that time do to travel and a move. I have used it less than one year total and now it is broken. It is supposed to chop of ice and all I have made in the blender is fruit smoothies. The company now is charging me $35.00 to send back and diagnos the problem. That does not include the repair of a new part and labor. I should have kept my Oster blender that I had for 15 years that still worked just fine, but because I received this as a gift and I would have never paid $130.00 for a new blender, I thought I had a Cadalic of applicances. Don't buy this Model KSB5NK3.
