We purchased a Kier Home at the Hawthorns Rosewell on the 4th August 2006. Since this date we have suffered unacceptable stress and upset to our lives. When we first moved in there were several snagging points, which were expected with the purchase of a new home. What we did not expect is that five weeks on, we would still not have all the works completed and with every defect that they have tried to correct, they have caused several others, due to negligence. The competence of the workmen is definitely questionable. Please be aware that you will get no customer care from their sales office regarding any issues that you have. The staff at the sales office will only tell you that they cannot get a response from their head office, in which case you would be wasting your time. The quality and standard of Kier Homes is dire to say the least. If you are thinking of purchasing a Kier Home, I would certainly recommend that you have your own independent structural survey done on the property before committing yourself. I would also recommend that if you do purchase a property that you do not move in any furniture or have carpets laid for at least two months after you're moving in date. Hopefully, by this time they may have completed any repairs without damaging too many of your pocessions. You may also want to ask how long after you move in will there be any road for you to walk on or any streetlights for you to be able to see at night, or feel safe. You may like to walk in dirt for two months, get your clothes ruined and fall over at night time when you cannot see where you are going, due to the fact there are no lamp posts. Please also be aware that if you do not want your privacy being invaded or do not like being stared at or whislted at by the workmen, then please do not move her. ps.please note that buying a property from Kier Homes could, sorry can seriously affect your heath and mental wellbeing.
