I went to buy a home in Four Seasons, by K. Hovnanian. The salesperson said I had to choose a 'special' lot that is suited for a slab home (no basement) and also suited for a 35 ft. wide home. I found one that fit that category and she made an appointment for us to come with our realtor to sign papers and hand over a deposit. When we got there, she said the person building next door to my lot had originally planned to build a larger model, but had recently changed her mind and wanted the small model like mine. So, because K. Hov. will not have two houses alike next to each other, I had to upgrade to a more expensive elevation on my model, adding over 10,000 to my costs. I didn't even like the upgraded frontage and now I have to pay for it? I expressed my feelings and exited. Later I got a call from the salesperson. The builder would split the costs on the upgrade (which I didn't like) and take away the free sunroom that was being offered to buyers this month. So, I can pay more to get a house with features I do not like or want because the builder has decided HE wants to keep the houses looking different? No Thanks!
