Kenmore Stove Sucks

Sears high-end range Model 790-9661. On year & 2 months old. Tonight the entire handle came off in my husband's hand as we was getting something out of the oven. The door then proceeded to separate -- the front panel swung out into the kitchen attached with some kind of rivets at the bottom. The inside glass slipped down so you couldn't push the outside panel back up and the screws that were holding the assembly together hung there like the the useless pieces of crap they are. Called Sears -- of course, 'if only I had bought the extended warranty.' I told them I hadn't expected the door to fall off 2 months after the warranty expired. Sorry, but that's a $65 service call for the the repairman to come out and 'take measurements' for the door that he already knows the model number of. That would require that someone be home from 8 to 5 'next Tuesday,' two days before Thanksgiving. And then I guess we would have to pay them another $65 and take off another day's work for them to actually bring the door in and install it. This is a huge rip-off that I bought thinking I was getting Kenmore quality of yore. This was recommended by Consumer Reports Fah-get about it. I will never purchase anything at Sears again. Hopefully, they will go the way of Wards, off into the sunset like they deserve.
