jrobinsoncamps mislead their customers. This company is and organization that puts on basketball and hockey camps for older children up to 18 years old. They pride themselves on pushing the children to another level. They give you a detailed list of what the camper will be doing during his two week stay. The overall cost is about $1500.00 (not including the flight to get there). Because the camp my son was going to was held in New York in August, I asked if there would be air condition in the dorm rooms where they would be sleeping. Without hesitation more than one person told me there would be. I realize my son will build character from having to deal with the heat. That does not make it ok for them not to tell me he would be without air conditioning. Had I known, I could have made better decisions, such as; send a fan with my son, or choose to send him early in the spring instead of August. He went to a baseball camp when he was 9. We were fully aware there was no air in the cabin. We prepared him for the weather. I have asked the people in charge at the camp to please go get fans and offer them for sale in the camp store, or allow the campers to leave and go purchase fans. They would not do either. What most upsets me is 'I AM PAYING FOR THIS CAMP, LET ME MAKE THE CHOICE IF I WANT TO PUT HIM THROUGH THE HOT AND STEAMING CAMP.' THEY HAVE NOT STUCK TO THE SCHEDULE. HE TOUCHES THE BASKETBALL VERY LITTLE, BUT RUNS VERY MUCH IN 95 DEGREE STEAMING WEATHER. IT HAS BEEN VERY CLEAR THEY INTENTIONALLY MISLEAD YOU. THEN WHEN THEY GET YOUR MONEY, THEY JUST SAY PULL HIM OUT OF THE CAMP IF YOU WANT. BUT NO REFUND. THE WAY THEY HANDLE YOU IS CLEAR ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS GETTING THE MONEY. OTHERWISE THEY WOULD NOT LIE IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEY TRY TO MAKE YOU THINK THEY DIDN'T KNOW THE DORMS WERE WITHOUT AIR. I CALLED THE COLLEGE AND ASKED IF THEY KNEW. THEY DID MONTHS IN ADVANCE. EVERYONE OF THEIR CAMPS ARE WITHOUT AIR, SO DO NOT BE MISLEAD IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS CAMP. ALSO REALIZE YOU CHILD WITH BE SPENDING 75% OF HIS DAY 'CONDITIONING' WHICH MEANS RUNNING. THE REMAINING DAY IS ON WHAT YOU WENT FOR(BASKETBALL OR HOCKEY) AND REVIEW OF WHAT YOU LEARNED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMP SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THEIR BUSINESS ETHICS. THE WAY WE STOP BUSINESSES FROM MISLEADING PEOPLE IS TO GET THE WORD OUT WHAT THEY DO.
