I use to work for a nonprofit organization named destiny's child. The organization specialized in caring for men with mental disabilities. The longer I worked there the more I realized that the money the men recieved from the state and donations were going to the fancy cars and homes that the employes who worked in the office. Not only that but there were times when the men need transportaion to certain places and there was no gas in the vans and not one employee would take the special needs men in their own car which were usually funded by the men. There were times when I would take the special needs men to a doctors visit just to find out that their copays were months behind, now take it I had only been working for this company for a month before all this started to arise. The vans that the men used to travel were in bad conditon. employes were never happy due to lack of pay and paychecks being late and wrong. But what really got to me was when they became so cheap on paying people that destiny's child failed to keep a watchfull eye on one of the special needs men and the special needs man ended up luring a 11 year old girl to his apartment and tried to smother her with a pillow. The next day in the office they act as if nothing ever happened. It was just sweep under the rug. As long as the people in the office keep their big houses, nice cars and fancy cloths they donot care about the men or the innocent little girl. So for the lack of empath I could no longer be a part of the office part. So I decided to work more with the special need.
