I'm in love with my best friend

I love your eyes. I love your hands. Whenever we sit in the car, all I want to do is take your hand and kiss your palm. I love the way you look at me, with such love and compassion and devotion, but I'm terrified of being rejected. How could I remain your friend? How could I watch some guy love you and pretend that I share in that joy, when it tears my insides to hear you mention someone else. You give me a peace I've never felt. How can anyone else do that to me?

You know what would be better than confessing that you love your friend to us? Confessing that you love your friend to your friend.

Being in love with your best friend is what successful marriages are made of. That is very sweet that you have such strong feelings for her. Does she have any idea? Has she ever given you any indication that she may feel the same? Its definitely a touchy subject because if you tell her, she may become 'creeped out' because she doesn't feel the same way. You run the risk of losing her friendship. However, if you don't tell her, she will never know and believe that you are not interested in her so she seeks out other boyfriends. I suggest you continue to be very supportive (as hard as that is especially when she's talks about others boys) and truly just be her friend without expecting anything other than friendship in return. SHE needs to discover that she has feelings about you on her own. So watch closely for signs but don't be obvious. She has to figure it out. Good luck! I hope she opens her eyes soon and sees that she has a adoring man right in front of her.
