i think my man is turning into an alcoholic

My man drinks three to five cans of strong later every night and during the day too at weekends. He was taken away from his mother when he was two because she drank. He was frequently fostered, as his father, who had custody, worked abroad a lot. He is now also an alcoholic. I don't drink and my mum has always told me never to go out with a man who holds up the bar all night. But my man rarely goes to pubs, is friendly, people realy like him and he never gets abusive. I need someone to tell him that he has a drink problem. Whewwww, that's my complaint. Thank you.
