I occasionally get angry at my girlfriend purely out of petty jealousy

Im in college so my girlfriend still often travels with her family. The economic gap between her and i is massive, although i often forget..shes loaded. And i, escaped from an inner city home riding scholarships and the government find myself irrationally irritable towards her whenever she mentions or is currently on an overseas vacation. I know this is out of envy, ive never left the states and she talks about europe like its a second home, dont forget those carribean trips. Its dumb and petty i know, but my brain always goes there.

I have been on the receiving end of this type of behavior, I hope you can overcome some of these thoughts it has made my relationship very difficult. My boyfriend had a challenging life not well off so to speak. I grew up the opposite, trips etc, good family much like you describe your girlfriend . I'm 39 now but I hate hearing how much I had when I grew up and he didn't. I never make derogatory remarks about other peoples lack of money or means. when I want to make a large purchase I am meet with resistance that I don't understand. I am sure at some point they will invite you if they haven't already; accept it you will likely have a good time. I seriously doubt they want to show off. Usually invites are sincere, they may wan to know you better. All I can say is for me it has been an issue, im tired of feeling like the bad guy because of it .I appreciate all the things in my life, am sure she also does. I can tell you this much he does not want that life back, now his family makes remarks about our money. I hate that, also when they need something who do they call. That's a real turn off. we been married 17 years already it gets old. Good luck,
