I miss my big brother

I am really sad right now. I'm an 11 year old boy and my big brother Mike just left for Boot Camp 2 weeks ago . He's 19 and decided to go in the Army instead of going to college. I thought I would be OK, but I already miss him so much I'm not sure I can handle it until I see him again. You see my brother is my hero. My Dad died when I was real young so Mike has been like a Dad and a brother to me. There are so many little things I miss, just talking to him, or him helping me with my homework, or putting me to bed at night. When my Mom asks if I'm OK I always lie and tell her I'm fine. I wonder if I should tell her how I really feel.

This might be the sweetest post I have ever read on this site. God Bless You and your brother! The love and bond between brothers is so strong it cannot be broken. Your big brother is your hero because he shows you how much he loves you. You guys will be friends for life!!

I know how you feel sweetheart, I felt the same way when my sister left to the Air Force, I had grown close to her when my parents where going through a divorce and the moment she said she was going to the Air Force I was really sad, I had nobody I could look up to then but as I got older I began to look up to her again because not many people could be able to do what she did so be patient and wait for him to come home, I know that he misses you greatly and can't wait for the day that he can see you again

hey little man, i feel your pain. I am 10 years younger than my brother. My God, growing up he was larger than life, the coolest guy on earth. I'm 21 now and he is still my hero. Tell your Mom how you feel, lean on her. He will be visiting you before you know it!

Tell your mom dude. It's not going to make her miss him anymore than she already does, and you will be able to help each other get through it until he gets home. Good luck man.

You poor little dude, I feel sorry for you!! The only negative about having a big brother so much older than you is they become your hero and when they leave it hurts really bad. Stay in touch with him, write or email him often and give him a extra long hug when he returns!! BTW, I'm sure he misses you a lot too!!
