It feels really terrible for someone you like a lot and might even have a big crush on come to you confessing to love your friend. And you are expected to talk with the said friend to think about going out on a date with this guy you like a lot. Well, I am presently in this bind. I can’t with any conviction tell my friend to go out with this guy. In fact, I don’t think I’m far from wishing evil on this friend. But the guy I love keeps asking if I’ve talked to my friend about the date. What should I do?

I agree with Turbo. Why are you in the middle? Is he not man enough to talk to her himself? Long and short, clearly he doesn't know how you feel about him. Perhaps if you told him, he might actually ask you out then.
