I lied about being raped

When I was in seventh grade I told my best friend that i had been raped. i made up this whole story and i told her like it was my biggest secret. i dont know why i did it, even if i was only in seventh grade it was still wrong and i had no excuse. she believed me until i told her i lied about it about 6 months later, and made up a lame excuse as to why i told her that. that put a hamper on our friendship, and we still havent talked about it since even though i am a junior now. why did i do it? was i looking for some kind of attention? i cant forgive myself. its sick.
