Checked into a howard johnsons after I had a fire in my house. The girl at the counter was quite incompitant and could not seem to understand my room requests (needed two rooms). She was very rude and at one point told me to shut up. Finnally got checked in and left the hotel. When I returned a couple hours later and went to my room I discovered that the T.V. didn't work and called down to the front desk. Nobody answered the phone so I walked down to the lobby. I waited for someone to come to the desk for twenty to thirty minutes, and proceeded to ask for a different room. I was told I would have to pay thirty dollars cleaning fee to change rooms, I hadn't even been in the room. After trying to convince the girl to just give me a different room, I decided to just stay in the room I had. As I walked thru the lobby the girl I had dealt with the first time, was coming back from somewhere, and as I passed her I muttered 'bitch' as I was looking at the ground. The girl who was still at the desk then told me I was kicked out of the hotel and had to leave or she whould call the police. I said no problem give me a refund and I will leave, and she said no leave or I call the police. I said fine I would talk to her manager in the morning. I stopped by the second room I had rented and explained to my daughters what had gone down and left the hotel. Shortly after i left both of the girls went to the second room and kicked them out also. In the morning I called the customer service number and was told that I would recieve a full refund. Later in the week when I called the hotel to inquire about my refund I was told that I would not recieve a refund but they would give me a coupon. I was charged three hundred twenty eight dollars for two rooms I didn't even use and had to find another hotel to boot. Not only had I paid in cash for the rooms, but they also charged my credit card(used to reserve the rooms), They charged the card the day after I was kicked out, so nobody can tell me it was just authorized to hold the room. S whatever you do don't go to the Howard Johnson.
