a few months ago my daughter was seen in Grandview Emergency room for severe pain that we feared might be related to an earlier problem with a spot on her spleen. They did ct scans and her doctor told me the spot had gotten larger and to take her back to see a surgical team she had seen earlier. I went back to Grandview the day she was to see the surgeons to get a copy of the scan to take with me.Their copy machine was down so an employee decided to give me an old set saying I'd never know the difference. She was right I didn't and the surgeons didn't even notice . fortunately Grandview's radiologist misread the scan. I fear to think what could have happened if the spot and grown and her surgeons were looking at an old scan before it grew. Her spleen could have ruptured and she could have bleed to death. When I complained to head of radiology , head of nursing, and administration someone was fired a few months later . This girl thinks she was fired because the hospital thinks she told me ; however the person who gave me the wrong scans is still employed there. I tried to sue Grandview not for money but to force them to fire the guilty party. I couldn't find a lawyer who would take the case.I guess morals or doing what is right doesn't count for much any more. I just thought maybe enough people would see this that maybe Grandview might do the right thing and fire the right person before someone is hurt by such in competience. However maybe it is too late my brother-in-law was treated there for kidney stones which turned out to be an abdominal aneuyism and a child in my classroom was treated there and sent home ;his appendix ruptured.
