home depot contrators

bought 6 doors from home depot and paid to have their contrators install them. they came out and measured for them . i had to miss a day of work because they will not install without someone at the house.i called the contractors office the friday before my thursday appt. and ask if there was any way they would cancel on me because once i took the day off i could not change it, she said only if it was below o or alot of rain so on wed. i traded at work to have thurs. off and weds. night the contractor called me and wanted me to have it done on fri. instead because he did not get paid until later on in the day and needed to pick up his check I explained that i was already missing thurs. and he wined around and tryed to make me feel sorry for him and said they would try to make it here the next day. so i called his boss and told him i took off work and the contractor did not sound like he was sure he could be here. he said oh he will be there. they knew it was going to be an all day job but they did not get here till 11:30am. three of the six doors were wrong ,one was too big,and two of them had the door knob hole drilled in the wrong side of the door (on the left side and should of been on the right or vice versa). they got caulking all over my new carpet,so i had to deal with the contractors insurance co. it took two more visit from the contactors to get the job done. when i would call home depot and complain about the way things were going they would say keep on them. i should not have to keep on them i paid to have this job done. long story short hire contractors with references from friends and not these so called contactors that home depot will send you.
