Hollywood Video in the past 2 years have done nothing but disappoint me. Not the employees (they just do what hthey are told) but corporate is the ones I have issues with. Working in retail, I know companies have policies for a reason. They must protect thier own from customers who like to take advantage of 'the customer is always right' motto (which doesnt pertain to this day and age!). But unfortunatley....this customer was complaining about a movie that was 5 days late saying that his DVD was scratched. The manager politely informed if the policy (they must get the identical title) and the customer rudely yelled 'give me my damn money and a free movie for the inconvenience'. Ok this guy was 5 days late.....and he's now bringing this up? Plus he feels it is justifiable to get a full refund ANDa free movie on top of that. The manager then called his DM over and the DM said just give him what he wants. I am in line with 3 other customers and I am dumbfounded on how the DM just gave in. What does that tell the customers that stand in line and heard all this......Make a scene and you get what you want! Where is your dignity. You might as well not have 'policies' at all if you dont enforce them.
