holiday infatuation

Why did I succumb to his holiday infatuation? On holiday last year I met a lovely man but did not get involved as he had a girlfriend in Ireland. On the last evening he told me he was infatuated by me and gave me his phone number. Since then we have met up several times and I have fallen for him. He said that between arriving home and getting my phone call he had agreed that this girl could move in with him for a short time. He now says he can't finish with her as he doesn't want to hurt her. He is due to come and see me in a couple of weeks but hasn't contacted me. I feel he is backing off. Should I ring and ask him if he is love with her? If he doesn't come to see me, should I go see him?
