Heathrow airport and baggage theft

Recently I and my team of entertainers travelled to Minsk via Warsaw only to find on our arrival that our baggage wasnt there and for 3 days we were without precious things, plus we had to look presentable because of the nature od business we are. When the baggage finally arrived my expensive camera was missing - diliberately taken out of its pouch. I have meanwhile put in a claim and separate complaint to Lot Airlines but as yet not received any feedback. I am madder than the march hare as that camera was used for professional purposes. There was also other crucial items missing from all the baggage. Now the explanation we were give why the luggage was delayed was that there was a security query. Has this security obsession gone mad or am I missing the plot. Surely people travlel expecting that their possessions would be safe or is that too much to ask, not expecting pilferers to be employed in such a sector, begrudging and depriving unspecting passengers of their goods.
