hearing aid failure

I have now had my oticon adapto hearing aids fail due to corrosion 3 times in less than 3 years. Although I have followed my audiologist's advice to the letter, nothing seems to work. My 'aids' are now out of warranty and I am out approx. $4800. Any suggestions
