Guilt

I’m 19 now. When I was in seventh grade, my rebellious stage started. I was trying Wicca, getting away from my Christian family. I started hanging out with this guy, a 18 or so year old pagan. He said I’d be able to join his coven. I hung around him all the time. He made me feel like I belonged somewhere. Then one day he told me he planned on raping someone. I thought he was kidding. He ended up raping her a few days later. He and another guy were arrested. I was in school at the time. I know I should have told someone. I should have done something to prevent it. But I didn’t. I blame myself still. Am I just as guilty?

If you honestly in your heart didn't believe him then no you aren't guilty. The only one that should be guilty is the rapist. Remember HE committed the crime not you. Look I'm a teenager and I know some guys make crude and disgusting rape jokes all the time but nobody believes them. It happens sometimes people on reality tv say them and get in trouble after (look up Big Brother Frankie Grande and Amanda Zuckerman). Are either or them rapists? Nope. You need to heal and move on you can't carry the burden any longer.
