Gorne thought for a moment to find where to start. 'Well, I suppose the beginning will do. As most Half-Vampires, I was born of a a mortal parent who-' He was cut off by the confused man. 'Whadaya you mean mosht?' Gorne blinked in confusion. 'Most what?' The old man pointed at Gorne with a smirk. 'You shaid 'mosht halvenwhateversh are born of hoomans' jusht now.' Gorne looked at Eek, who had hung himself from the above fire escape. 'Ya did. I heard it myself.' The old man nodded victoriously. 'Well, okay, some Half-Vampires, or 'dhampirs' can be born of bitten pregnant mothers, created through DNA mixing of vampirized blood, or by other means. Not really important. As I was saying, I was born of a mortal mother. My father, Mehdaros Aludrac of the Romanian Dragon Clan.' The man, again, looked confused. 'Roomany draco-whata?' Gorne sighed. 'There are differant types of Vampires. I just happen to be from the Romanian Dragon Clan. To simplify, Dracula is of the same type.' The old man stared. 'Your not gunna shook meh blood is ya?' Gorne glared at the old man. 'Only if you don't let me finish. The way your going you'll die before I get to the good stuff.' The old man sat up, burping up the liquor he had recently drank. Gorne wriggled his nose from the stink. The man crossed his legs, listening intently now. Gorne sighed. 'Anyways... Mehdaros was part of the Romanian Dragon Clan of Vampires. The problem with this is that such vampires do not take kindly to mortals, such is their arrogant failing. Mehdaros I suppose, once felt the same way, but at some point he fell in love with Lidia, my mother. They of course over time became lovers, but Mehdaros was shunned by the Clan for being with a human in such a way, and Humans loathed Lidia as a 'witch' or simply a wench of the devil. Fun considering Lidia was now pregnant by Mehdaros with me. Well long story short there, they lived in woods between the human village and Vampiric settlement. Cliche' I know, but it worked for them. Under the circumstances though, they couldn't be happier. You see, Mehdaros devised a cloak that suppressed his Vampiric power so he would not be able to use his full strength on the humans, and he carried a bloodstone. It's a small red ruby like stone. It's said to be made from the blood of dead wizards so it is infused with magical properties. In this case, it suppressed his craving for blood. So he had SOME peace while living with Lidia. However, the good times, as in any story, come to an end...' (To avoid lots of quotations, this will be a segment of the story where it's like a flashback and less of Gorne explaining.) Deep in the forest it was cold and misty. A product of Vampiric magic designed to ward off humans, and make lost the unwary traveller. The house of Mehdaros and Lidia Aludrac lie in the center of this mist. This night it was particularly dark however even with a full moon. Dark magics were breathing an unholy life into the world. The moon gives off an energy that fuels creatures of the night and full moons is like an endless battery of power. The powers of all creatures this night are doubled and some even trippled in the light of a full moon. Howls are heard through the forest as wolves, were or not, cried to the glorious light. Vampires licked thier lips, ready for a run through the human villages with their now enhanced strength. All creatures tonight rejoiced. But others were a bit cautious of this night. Lidia was preparing to birth her vampiric child into this world, with Mehdaros beside her, in a slight panic. 'The night does not boad well Lidia. The moon is full and the child could be born any moment.' Lidia was lying on hard wooden bed with nothing for coushioning but hey and leaves. She was sweating as contractions came sooner and sooner. 'Tis not the child's fault the moon chooses to present itself in full. Such a thing does not appear to be any sort of bad omen either.' Mehdaros held her hand. 'You do not understand, Lidia. The moon's power surges through such creatures tonight, but to be born into the full moon, and as only a halfling? The child could very well be born a monster.' Lidia would not hear of such a thing. Her tone hardened at her lover. 'This glorious night is burdened with no monsters but your ill words of our child.' Mehdaros pulled back for a moment and ducked his head. 'I apologize. But that does not make me wrong.' Before Lidia could snap at him, she burst into a screaming fit. It was time. Lidia started pushing on the child to grant it aide into the world and aided her own pain with violent screams. It was not long before at last the head was seen. 'Lidia, I can see it. The baby! It... Lidia?' A bright glow emanated from Lidia as she continued to push on the child. The mist outside poured in the windows and tore apart the door as it found entrance into the small house. Mehdaros stood back away from Lidia. The mist swirled about the room then settled over Lidia. A trail of light from the moon followed in the mist, and soon, all of lidia was hidden behind a white light. The surge of energy hurled Mehdaros into one of the walls as he watched the lunar energies pour into her opening, bathing the child in the power that would grant it immortality. It seemed to last forever but in an instant it was over. Mehdaros, stunned, looked back up. Lidia was lying down, holding thier son, who had an aura about him. The power of the moon had indeed blessed him. Mehdaros could feel the child's emanating power from clear across the room. The child cried for a moment as the aura dissipated. Lidia coddled her child. 'We shall name him Gorne... Gorne Aludrac...'
