
Given the raw deal - NOT as advertised!

Hello - I wish to post a complaint about an online game rental service called 'GameLender.com'. For demographics, I am a 41 year-old computer professional, I work for the military, and I have a good education and financial background. A primary hobby for me has always been Video Games, since their inception in the mid 70's through today's modern systems. I often find myself wasting far too much money on games which I only play once, never to play again. So, I decided to research the various online game rental companies. I compared their features, their service plans, etc., and it seemed that the company with the highest rating of customer satisfaction was www.gamelender.com - - and I have come to the conclusion that people must have very LOW standards at times! I signed-up a couple weeks ago for their highest package available at the time - $24.95 a month for 3 games at-a-time. They promptly shipped the first three games in the 99 GAME QUEUE that I had assembled. I played through these three very quickly (within 48 hours), and I promptly returned them. The returns were refected in my queue just a couple of days later. NOW - HERE IS THE CRUX OF THE COMPLAINT - - - Their service promises that 'as games are returned, they rush out your next selections as long as they are available'. Well, the next 18 TITLES in my queue ALL show as 'Available now!', and they are quite old games for the Playstation 1, so I was fairly confident that they WOULD be available. Well, the section of my queue indicating 'games out' as the ones next sent remained empty for almost 48 hours. I expected to see the NEXT THREE games in here - - but nothing. THEN - only ONE game appeared in my 'Games Out' section of my queue late last week! Just ONE. But wait a minute - I thought I was paying the higher rate for THREE at a time?? 'OK', I thought, 'Perhaps they are just behind'. Well, let me say this. Several days have since passed, SEVERAL emails have been sent, per their website instructions, to 'support@gamelender.com' (NONE of which have been returned by the service department or even been acknowledged!), and today STILL the same SINGLE game (which has yet to be received on this end!) is ALL that shows in the queue as sent. This is absolutely ridiculous. Perhaps correct me if I am wrong, but I always assumed that you SHOULD get WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I am paying for a 3-at-a-time plan, but they are only sending one?? And what about customer service - - NO replies at all to any of my emails? This is unacceptable, and frankly, highly unprofessional. How on EARTH they ever received their high ratings, I will never understand. At this rate, it is FAR cheaper to pay the also-outrageous high prices of renting games at local rental STORES in town! Where is the savings? And convenience? No, it is more like INCONVENIENCE. Again - the site is www.gamelender.com, and I have the SILVER plan (3-at-a-time) - but WATCH OUT or they will get to steal your hard-earned money too!
