You guys are all awful. This was simply a question, not a 'please attack each other's beliefs' fest. Grow up and see this post as it was meant to be.

I have to be honest and say that I beleive this is a very reasonable question to ask HOWEVER, while homosexuality may be viewed as a perversion to a minority of poorly educated, narrow minded or strongly religious individuals, paedophilia is considered to be disgusting to practically everybody but the deviants themselves. The question of ones sexuality being genetic or due to social background has been asked by everybody from scientists to the media to the public and nobody is ever going to come to just the one answer and agree. All I can say is that homosexuality is practiced between consenting adults and paedopilia is where a dangerous adult engages in sexual acts with children who DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES have the mental capacity to agree to such things, no matter how mature they may beleive themselves to be. Paedophilia is I beleive a sexuality in a sense but it's a soul destroying sexuality that's practised at the expense of innocent children and is and always should be considered illegal in our society alongside rape, bestiality and all other forms of unconsensual sex.

I believe children have no concept of sexuality. Therefore a gay person can not be born that way. As hormones develop and their knowledge grows they develop a sexual intrest. I do believe that the sexual interest of many people has been perversed by rape. As many females who were victims of rape act out by becoming promiscuis or lesbians, many males who are victims of rape accept the physical act that was forced upon them. Children who grow up in abusive homes often seek out abusive spouses. People often accept the abuse they endured during childhood as normal. The difference between a gay adult and a pedophile is that there are 2 consenting adult parties. I do believe every act we make (sexual or not) is a choice. Whether i like it or not, its not my business what 2 consenting adult parties do in their bedroom. I can be respectful and accept a gay person as a neighbor but i could never do this for a pedophile. Hold true to your convictions and remember 'love the sinner, hate the sin.'

If you're going to ask a question, then ask a question. If you're going to lecture, then lecture. If you're going to make a statement, then make a statement. Make sure you know which you're doing though, cause you run the risk of making a huge ass out of yourself. Also, it would be helpfull to discuss the isssue at hand and avoid attacking personalities - which is typical of a simple mind. After reding both the original statment and your response to the comment, I am ready to make a character judgement - you are incredibly stupid.

Apparently you have a reading and/or comprehension problem. I was asking about the ORIENTATION, not the acts themselves. Furthermore, I did not claim to be a representative of anyone, I simply asked a question. As for victims, have you ever seen a child in a gay home? You can blow right by their discomfort if you like, but at that point you lose all credibility. Yes, molesting a child is a horrible crime but if the person that has that orientation never acts on it, then there is still no victim. I have to laugh when I read that you want to tell me not to use any thing that you think might destroy your argument even though I wasn't going to use those arguments anyway.

I hardly think gay people are asking for acceptance - rather they are standing up for their freedom from harrasment, ridicule, prejudice and discrimination in a land that was built on prinicples, such as 'the pursuit of happiness.' Gay people are adults, who choose to have sex with same sex partners based on their attraction - your trying to pool together gays and pedophiliacs is false, here's why: Gay people are consenting adults who do what they do for whatever their reasons - no victims here. Child molesters molest children, children are not consenting adulsts - there is no meeting of the minds or mutual consent. In the latter case, there is a victim - the child. No one is asking for your support, consent, agreement, or understanding. Gay people are just exercising their rights granted them under the founding principles of this country. If being gay is a perversion, then show me the victims, show me the violation of rights, show where the perversion exists - and don't use nature or natural law or religion as a tool to support your twisted thinking. Keep in mind that you are not nature's, natural law's, or god's representative. Now, show me the real, human, victim.
