
Gateway to Hell

Gateway made my life living hell. Called to get help with backing up laptop, service tech instruction was to erase my hard drive. In dealing with this Gateway stated they had no employee with that name or number. When I sent my laptop in they sent it back w/ broken lid, missing keys and still had not been fixed. I was never able to use services I purchased due to my laptop being broken. ALSO: I had purchased a camera at the same time as the laptop, camera was stolen. I called about replacing it and was told if I purchased a new one they would transfer my 3 yr warranty. That later I was told was not true. The replacement camera has had major problems which they told me they would chage me to fix as I had not purchased extended warranty. I have begged for help but not one really cares. Oh yes, where I ordered the laptop it took them several trys to even get it to me. I had also purchased a desktop at the same time and have had ongoing problems with it, they attempted to fix it but that was a joke. Moral of this story... run from GATEWAY and their products. Since I purchase my Gateway (aug 2001) laptop I have purchased 2 Dell desktops, 6 dell laptops 2 HP desktops, 2 HP laptops, 1 sony laptop, 1 sony desktop, 1 e-machine laptop. Which ones have i had trouble with... the e-machine, suprise, the company is owned by GATEWAY. Go to anyplace but don't go to GATEWAY
