Friend + Friend

I have a friend named Emily. She has a friend named Steve. I started e-mailing Steve through Emily and we're great friends. Thing is, I really like Steve and have done for a while now- I just never said anything. He's recently started dating Emily and I can't help but feel so rejected all the time because he talks non-stop about her and I always act over-excited and happy for them, but I'm not. Another factor is a girl called Kirsty, now I used to be friends with her but Steve and I agreed that she is a total bitch. Emily is still best friends with her but Emily is a sweet person, so she is friends with all of us. Kirsty is crushing on Steve but is a total attention seeker and threatens suicide every time Steve rejects her (as sweetly as he can). She's been strangely okay about her crush and her best friend and has even acted as some kind of match maker. We al know that this is because she wants to be 'Steve's shoulder to cry on' if they split up but that just can't happen. I don't want to tell Steve how I feel and risk upsetting either of them and I don't want to wait until they split up to tell him, in case he accuses me of doing exactly what Kirsty's doing. They both mean the world to me, but I like Steve more than a friend and its so confusing that it hurts! What would anyone else do?
