Ford Motor Company ripped me off

I purchased a car from Ford and financed it through Ford Motor Credit (FMC). I had the car a little over a year when I had a major car accident (ran off the road) and totaled it. I notified my insurance company who contacted FMC to inform them of the accident. Here is where the fun begins. My insurance company would not give me anywhere near what the Blue Book value was on the car so I decided to hold out on signing the paperwork and the title over to them. This went on for about 3 months. Next thing I know the car had been moved to a salvage lot in another state without my signature. In the meantime I was sent a letter from FMC stating that I owed more on the car than it was worth and we could make payment arrangements. I wasn't happy and refused to sign the title over to them. After another two month wait the insurance company sent another statement declaring that the car had been paid for and the balance was zero. Shortly after all of this mess the Division of Motor Vehicles informed me that I needed to come and pick up the title to the vehicle because it was paid for and in my name with no liens. I raced over to the DMV to pick it up. After all of that I figured it was over but no - I was wrong. FMC still insisits that I owe them money. Along with all that I did a carfax report on the vehicle and it came back registed to me with no history of accidents. I refused to pay anything and had to go to court. Their laywers did not show up either time. When I went to buy another vehicle I had a hard time because they kept telling me I still owned the car so therefore my credit has a bad mark on it due to the ignorance of FMC. I even faxed them copies of everything and they still will not remove it from my credit. Word of advise - DO NOT PURCHASE A FORD!
