I imagine it won't be easy to post poetry correctly on here...but here goes! This is a revamped poem I wrote in 1987. (Not a very good revamp, but it fits your situation better this way...) ;) AS A ROSE::: Most relationships are as roses planted:::without both giving care::: These one siders will prove too fragile to grow::: In turn they're dead before you know:::For the possibility of reaping what you one sidedly sow::: Will be quite rare. ::: As a nature's rose that bloomed through loving care::: precious to behold::: A two sided relationship will take on shape and form::: And if you expect it to survive an unseasonal storm::: Use your hearts and souls to keep it warm::: Sheltered from the cold. ::: Respect a relationship as a rose you've planted ::: nurture it with care::: And weed so it's fragile blooms can grow::: But if it should die, then let it go::: Do not even attempt to try and resow::: or give it care ::::: For poor relationships are like roses that do not bloom::: damning for the soul::: as all you have to behold is thorn::: :::And no matter how carefully it's worn:::: Your heart will be pricked and from where it's torn:::remains a neverending hole::: ::: Until you find the one to create the perfect rose::: nothing will you behold::: When you do give it your heart and soul to bear:::For a perfect rose has no thorns to tear:::And it will thrive on your tender loving care::: and never grow old.
