Fishing with Delbert In Canada

One of the many mistakes I've made with Delbert is when I invited him to go to Canada with me last summer for some fishing. When we got to the lake in Canada I picked out a nice spot for Delbert to fish. I gave him my best tackle box of lures to be polite and my best pole and said I would go on down a ways and pick my spot to fish. I got a few steps away when I heard Delbert swearing out loud. I looked back and there was Delbert with his lure caught about half way up a 50 ft Longleaf pine tree that was behind him when he went to cast out into the lake. I shook my head and cut his line. I secured a new lure and told Delbert to be more careful next time and then went off to find myself a spot to fish. After a hot day in the sun I was ready to go back to camp once it started to get dark. When I caught up to Delbert he was sitting on the ground beside an empty tackle box looking about as wretched as any man could get. I said Delbert PLEASE don't tell me that $500 worth of my best lures are stuck up in that pine tree. Delbert gave me one of his pitiful lost soul looks that make it hard to be mad at him. I just signed and shrugged it off by saying I might have lost $500 in lures but, it's not so bad when you consider all the presents we're going to have when we come back to fish tomorrow. Delbert gave me a puzzled look. I said think about it and pointed to the pine tree. And Delbert actually got all excited when I reckoned to him that when the sun comes up tomorrow and radiates all those shiney 'ornaments' up there that's bound to look like a CHRISTMAS TREE and the Canadians will surely feel obligated to leave us presents!
