Fishing with Delbert

Delbert wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. I know it wasn't right to play tricks on Delbert. But it was just too much fun not to. Delbert and I went fishing with Jon in my boat. We were looking for a good place to fish when I stopped the boat because I had to go to the bathroom. I winked at Jon and smiled and said I think I'll make like Jesus and walk on the water to go to the bathroom. I got out of the boat on the side facing the shore and stood on the water. I went to the bathroom and got back in the boat. Jon said I think I'll try that. He gets out and walks on the water and gets back in the boat. We tried to keep from laughing when I turned to Delbert to ask him if he needed to go to the bathroom before we moved on? Delbert gets up and walks off the boat on the side opposite of the shore and plunges deep into the water. Jon looks at me and says see what your pranking has done. I said don't look at me. How was I to know he would be stupid enough not to question that we walked on water and get out on the opposite side of where I pulled up along a beneath the surface rock formation?
