Every road is circular.

I just graduated high school. It scared the shit out of me that at my age, you're only given one route and one way..a higher education. To me, life is not about finding a career to fulfill you. What other options are you given at this moment? I moved to this small conservative town two years ago with my family. The father got a job as a pastor. During this time I was coming out of the closet. I came that waking up point in ones life, where you're almost handed a box of self-discovery. After a couple years of living there, I began to feel as if my life was turning into a wash, rinse, repeat cycle. Nothing was going in or coming out. So, I changed it. I lost my job at this pizza parlor in town, had some money saved up, saw that the source of Occupy Wall Street was happening in New York City, bought a bus ticket immediately and left. It's been about two weeks here for me. I somehow expected that with a new setting would come a new mindset and life that I wanted..I only found out that my baggage has come along with me, just in a bigger landscape. I'm not happy here. I found a job bussing at a restaurant and it's killing me to work there. I'm living with my sister-in-law, she's been really tying to support the idea of me getting situated on my own here..but I don't know why I'm here anymore. I don't know what i'm literally and metaphorically working for. I want t go home, but going home won't bring any answers as well. I feel stuck, so stuck.

You made the mistake of believing that a change of scenery would be the solution to your problems. That never works because happiness comes from within. You found this out about yourself. Now, the rest is up to you to change inside and seek the happiness you want.

Life, at least a successful life, isn't about waiting for something to happen. It's about making something happen. It usually requires significant time and energy spent doing things you don't really want to do. The process isn't easy, because there's a lot of competition in any field. To make your way requires ambition, discipline and perseverance. That may mean trying, failing and trying again several times. If you're part of the Occupy Wall Street group that resents those who have succeeded, then you probably haven't realized that the one trait most common among highly successful people is their dedication to overcoming obstacles in their way. More important even than talent is effort.

You are in the transition from the ideal world of childhood where there is always a right way to go and the real world of adulthood where you find out that most of what you thought you know is nothing but bullshit.
