Our complaint is about Ernest Wilson, Estate Agents. they approached us, saying they had a buyer for our business, ready and waiting. If we wanted or decided,to sell our shop, Up to this point we had not said to anybody espessially,Enest Wilson.That we where thinking of selling our shop.He promised us that this buyer, Lived loacal,And was a cash buyer,And should think about it,If we were un happy with our shop.Although we were finding it hard at first,we could not decide, At a moments notice if we wanted to sell our Business. As we had hoped this would last us into retirement.And at this moment we are not ready to give up on our dream.We parted company by saying we would think about it,He asked us to sign a paper, that gave him permission to start procedings,If we decided to sell.He told us this would save him coming out to us again,or if he was too busy,and couldnt get over to us.As Ernest Wilson Esate Agents is based in leeds and we are in Halifax.But this was not an official agreement,In short after a few months This buyer never materialised.So I telephoned his Office and told him we did not want him to sell our shop.His reply to us was that we had had an agreement and was bound by law to it.He never said how long this so called agreement was for, or how to end it, when it did expire.After 18 months we sold our shop though another Estate Agent, which was R.T.A,from Manchester. who we were very pleased to deal with.We payed what was agreed, And the shop was sold.We were all very happy, Then a a few weeks later, we recieved a letter from Ernest Wilson, saying he had heard, We had sold our shop and he would like £3000.00 for selling our shop,which of coarse he did not do. We found out later, any agreement if we had one, should last six months, so after 18 months,it should have been over well before we sold the shop.Where do we stand.
