emtpy phrases

I am one of those guys who says 'I'll call ya' when I have no intention of doing so. I really don't understand why women think men are so bad for saying it. It is just one of those empty phrases that we use all use as part of normal social interaction. Like 'see ya' or asking a stranger or casual acquaintance 'how are you?' we really don't want or expect a detailed answer. It is exactly the same as a woman who says 'I'm busy' when you ask her out but what she really means is 'I am not at all interested in you'. If I asked a girl out and was rejected I prefer the lie to a blunt statement about how unappealing she finds me. Same thing at the end of a first or second date. There is often an awkward point where she is waiting to hear you say 'I'll call ya' . Saying simply 'bye' seems harsh unless it was clearly a bad date for both of us. It is a different situation is you have had developed some kind of relationship or just had sex.
